Fujifilm Finepix F70 EXR - for free dive photography -
Fujifilm do produce some good cameras
a criticism of the Fujifilm Finepix F70 EXR is that it lacks an 'underwater scene' shooting mode
this alone would have produced better colours, although I think the photo editing software has worked well enough even with only 3-clicks/ adjustments (colour balance and sharpening were vital)
most importantly though, this camera lacks a purpose-built underwater housing so when
free diving you don't have access to any of the controls other than focus and shoot - very important
I've surprised myself in that now, with another camera, I find I use a little bit of zoom quite often - not too much though. And access to the zoom means a housing built for a particular model of camera
an underwater scene setting is good to have, especially while you are tending to use 'automatic'
what I like about this photo is that it highlights how free diving can be just like swimming in an aquarium
and doesn't the idea of having a photographic record just make you want to go and do it - now?
